		The school has a tradition of excellence dating back to its formation as an R-12 School in 1948.

	Some of the features of our school are:- excellent grounds and facilities, and quality teaching and learning programmes a comprehensive transition programme from Preschool to Reception and from Year 7 to 8 emphasis on Literacy through a dedicated literacy session each morning, careful data collection, literacy testing for new students, intervention and guided reading programmes in the Primary years emphasis on Numeracy in the morning programme for R-7 a fitness programme for students in primary years and a Health Promoting School programme R-12 a school choir of excellent standard a broad range of programmes in Senior Secondary years, including Vocational Education programmes, School Based Apprenticeships and traditional academic programmes a long history of high academic achievement, completion of SACE and students successfully reaching their goals in further education and training and the workforce a Middle School programme highlighted State-wide for its excellence excellent educational facilities including use of the Community Library, community gymnasium and swimming pool excellent relationships between staff and students supported by opportunities for student voice through student government excellent organisation and policy development excellent information technology facilities with dedicated computer rooms and computers in all classrooms, and internet access strong links between the school and community with opportunities for parental involvement in a range of decision making and school activities excellent support for students with learning difficulties through a comprehensive Special Education programme including support from a School Counsellor and Chaplain a family approach to the care of each student, with individual care, attention and support a comprehensive camping and outdoor education programme in Years 6 to 10 A focus on sporting activities including interschool and knockout competitions at State level a history of successful involvement in the Australian International Pedal Prix competition with a great deal of community involvement A range of cultural activities including visiting performers, involvement in Come Out and other programmes an openness to adult re-entry educational programmes
