As you already know, your organisation has been short-listed for the
People's Choice Awards, which are part of this year's National Volunteer
Awards.
What this means, is that your group has been judged as one of the top 20
volunteer organisations, in your category, in Australia.
In recognition of your organisation's fantastic contribution to the community, you will receive a gift certificate for a 12 month subscription to ourcommunity.com.au, and your nomination will now progress to the final stage of judging and be considered for the State and National Awards.
This year, the National Volunteer Awards have been extended so that members of the community can vote for their 'favourite' volunteer group through the People's Choice Awards.
Your organisation's profile will be featured on the Volunteer Awards' website along with the other short-listed groups. There will be nine (9) People's Choice Award winners. Only one group will be rewarded per category. The groups which receive the most votes in each category will receive $2,500 from the National to be used for the organisation's activities*.
People will be invited to vote for their "favourite" group by visiting the "Community, Volunteer Awards" section of national.com.au at:
Voting is open from Monday 15 September until Friday 10 October 2003.
To help your group spread the word about being nominated for the People's Choice Awards (and to encourage voting), you may want to forward this email to family, friends and the many individuals your group has assisted in the community.
